About this role

Job Description

Objective:

The Category Development Manager is a lead contributor to delivering value through building relationships with external retailers, analyzing category performance and owning the range in retailers & distributors across Mexico.

This individual will focus on execution strategies, planogram & cluster design, assortment optimization, and analysis of consumer, customer, and category trends.

This role will report into the Category Director, Mexico, and will have exposure to a wide variety of departments, all the while providing a strong and trustworthy partnership for our retail customers.

Activities:

1. Develop & execute range reviews proposals

I. Analysis of gaps in product categories to identify opportunities for innovation.

II. Portfolio analysis to optimize existing categories and identify new category opportunities.

III. Establish the category strategy across channel & cluster, optimize assortment, define portfolio, and design planograms.

2. Become retailers’ point of contact for category analysis

I. Primary support and point of contact for retail clients, providing category-specific analyses.

II. Direct relationship with senior buyers at retail clients.

III. Access to confidential, comprehensive category information for retail clients, including competitor SKUs, total sales volume, and more.

IV. Comprehensive category advisor for retail clients.

3. Category performance review with trade

I. Conduct monthly meetings with external business partners and clients to monitor indicators and define action plans.

II. Analysis of different distribution channels to identify and implement the appropriate growth strategy and unmet market needs.

III. Identifying emerging consumer trends across various categories to assess their feasibility for implementation within KH.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or equivalent is preferred
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skillset in Data Analytics Services [Nielsen, Kantar, Scintilla]. Strong competency in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
  • Language: Strong fluency in English & Spanis
