Position Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of J Skinner’s Azure-based cloud infrastructure, data and process networks, enterprise backups, and providing desktop support to ensure seamless operations across the organization. This role supports the IT needs of a large bakery manufacturing plant, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while facilitating cross-departmental integration.


How You Will Make an Impact

Administer & monitor the data & process networks, networking hardware, firewalls, and connected end points.  Administer and monitor the Azure cloud environment, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and related services, ensuring high availability and performance.  Be the subject matter expert on M365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune. Provide desktop support for end-user devices, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues for Windows-based systems.  Accountable for patch management on servers, network equipment, firewalls, computer end points, and network-attached peripherals.  Develop & maintain technical documentation on the Company’s IT infrastructure.  Collaborate with external managed service providers to triage daily support and higher-level technical issues. Expand technical knowledge in specialized areas, staying current on Azure trends, best practices, and cybersecurity advancements.  Be willing to work overtime and/or non-traditional hours when necessary - including some evenings, weekends, and holidays – to meet deadlines while minimizing downtime for the Organization.  Develop working relationships and maintain positive communication with employees at all levels of the organization to support IT modernization and cross-departmental collaboration.  Manage the Enterprise backups, develop and test disaster recovery plans, and schedule real-world spin-up testing of Disaster Recover failover scenarios.  Maintain the confidentiality of all data, email, documentation, conversations, etc. encountered during business, both inside and outside the IT Department.  Understand and comply with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.

Certifications, Skills and Abilities

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification is highly preferred.

· A Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching certification is a significant advantage.

· An MCSE Core, MCSA Windows Server, or MTA Networking certification is a huge plus.

· A recognized cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) is a plus.

· Must have exceptional analytical & deductive reasoning skills.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Security-first mindset with a focus on protecting sensitive data and systems.

· Self-motivated team player capable of operating with minimal supervision.

· Must strive to put the needs of internal and external customers first.

· Valid driver’s license required to pick up parts and equipment from local vendors, as well as drive a rental car should travel dictate.


Education and Experience

· Education: An Associates or BS degree in Information Technology or related degree is preferred. Comparable work experience or industry certifications may substitute for degree preference.

· 5+ years in a Systems Administrator or Level 2/3 Help Desk role is required.

· 3+ years of basic network administration in a corporate setting or MSP role is required.

· Experience with Cisco networking is a significant advantage.

· Experience with administering Exchange Online is a huge plus.

· Experience with administering and/or securing Windows Server is highly preferred.

· Experience with Azure is required.

· Experience with running Disaster Recovery playbooks a huge plus.

· Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects is required.

· Experience with PowerShell is a plus.

· Experience with Microsoft Power Apps a huge plus.
