Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Job

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide cloud solutions leveraging AWS services and Kubernetes orchestration
• Define and promote architectural standards and best practices for cloud adoption and containerization strategies
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development, and operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives
• Architect and deploy microservices-based applications on Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and resilience
• Guide infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation to streamline deployments and operations
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and container solutions to continuously innovate and improve platforms
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to engineering teams on AWS and Kubernetes best practices
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements within cloud and container environments
• Develop architectural documentation, roadmaps, and governance models

About you

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and DevOps culture
• Familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
• Cloud Platforms:
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/Terraform
• Container Orchestration:
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment, scaling, security, and monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with Helm, Operators, and service meshes (e.g., Istio)
• Microservices: Design and deployment of microservices ecosystems
  • API gateways and event-driven architectures
• Infrastructure as Code:
  • Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure
• CI/CD & Automation:
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
• Security:
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, IAM policies, network security, and Kubernetes RBAC
