The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Department

This team is responsible for the management of the collaboration project with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation ("CSCLF") and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups ("HKFYG" on nurturing Hong Kong youth in innovation and technology with national and global outlook ("the Project") and other Trust-funded / IoP-funded projects.

The Job

  • Assist Deputy Executive Manager and/or Senior Charities Managers to manage the Project through proper governance, execution of project plans, collaboration with local and Mainland Project partners and relevant service units to achieve project goals and deliverables, and provide regular reporting of project progress to Club's management team, Charities’ Trust and IoP
  • Assist in development and implementation of projects’ plans including the tasks, deliverables, schedules and resources required to reach project objectives, review the plans from time to time to meet changing operational situations and environment
  • Assist in monitoring projects’ progress to ensure all activities are within scope and budget, delivered on time, in an effective and efficient manner
  • Provide administrative support for meeting daily operational, functional, and reporting requirements, including but not limited to preparing progress and financial reports, internal procurement and audit procedures, maintaining comprehensive project documentation, providing secretariat support for Project Advisory Committee and the sub-committees/working groups of the project

About You

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience, preferably in fields related to philanthropy (broadly include academia, non-profit, education, social science, etc.)
  • Proven track record and experience in managing complex and/or large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of Mainland philanthropy sector is required
