Job Description:

The Assistant Manager of Retail oversees all "back of house" shop and café operations. This position maximizes sales and profitability by managing the maintenance of the Shopify e-commerce store, inventory receiving and counts, technology, and assisting with training and financials. 


This is a full-time position, Friday to Tuesday.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities below are essential core functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Research, implement, and maintain software & hardware for e-commerce and, brick-and-mortar POS systems. Assist with training and tech support for staff including off-site events 
  • Maintain e-commerce: design, navigation, product imagery, product placement, growth 
  • Manage inventory entries: from arrival to POS system and website entry 
  • Oversee annual physical inventory count 
  • Report taxes to be paid, UBIT, and inventory counts to finance department 
  • Pull Shopify sales reports for cross-functional departments, as needed 
  • Coordinate with General Manager to submit invoices for inventory and supplies to accounts payable 
  • Assist General Manager with purchasing for the Shop and Café  
  • Re-order merchandise as needed using inventory reports and feedback from Sales Associates 
  • Work on the sales floor as needed (for example, when an associate is on PTO or sick time, high volume days, or for on-site and off-site events) 

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

Below are the minimum requirements necessary for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • A minimum of two years of Assistant Manager experience in retail setting 
  • Excellent to Master-level knowledge of working with the Shopify back end, including web design, POS and product entry.  
  • Photography and Web Design knowledge 
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and Shopify POS systems
  • Ability to learn and retain product and HNOC information 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task 
  • Ability to follow procedures and carry out instructions from the General Manager of Retail 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others as well as the ability to work and solve problems independently

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, move throughout the properties and in other settings, operate a computer and other office machinery, ascend/descend and traverse heights and low levels, position self to work at a workstation and in small areas, and monitor the movement of or personally move objects to low, medium and/or high levels. Regularly move objects of up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. This position consistently communicates with customers and others and observes, inspects, and assesses inventory and sales documents/information.
