Job Summary

 

The Quality Engineer I role at The Hillman Group (RDS) will work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain teams, Suppliers, and Customers to evaluate and improve product quality, quality reporting, and quality processes, under the supervision of the Quality Manager.

 

This position will be full-time in person at our Tempe warehouse, located at 8990 S Kyrene Rd, Tempe AZ. 

 

Essential Job Functions *

 

  1. Evaluation and improvement of the quality of new and existing products.
  2. Recommend and implement revisions to product specifications, processes, procedures, and/or quality control parameters and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Uncover and document quality-related issues through internal audits.
  4. Track and maintain quality metrics through data analysis.
  5. Visits to top supplier facilities to ensure quality standards are met, as needed. (Some travel in the U.S. may be required)
  6. Lead root cause investigations using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  7. Active participant in MRB for review and disposition recommendation for rejected products through the NCMR process.

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Field preferred
  • 3 Years in a Quality Engineering Role within a Manufacturing Environment
