Summary of major duties:
Project Support
• Weigh and batch ingredients for bench-top and pilot plant runs
• Prepare bench-top formulations of new product innovations
• Support pilot plan trials and prototype production including set-up and clean-up
• Coordinate procurement, receipt, and storage of ingredients
• Coordinate shelf-life testing studies
• Input lot tracking information
• Perform basic analytical tests
Equipment Operation
• Learn and operate a variety of standard testing and process equipment.
• Ensure timely calibaration of lab instruments
Lab Maintenance
• Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as necessary.
• Ensure that needed lab equipment is available and functional.
• Maintain clean and orderly lab area.
• Procure basic ingredients as needed
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• GED or High School Diploma required with 0-2 years related experience.
• Experience in food processing is preferred.
• Good mathematical skills
• Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel
• Comfortable operating lab, pilot plant and small production equipment
• Capable of working in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with dynamic priorities
• Demonstrated ability of a basic working technical knowledge
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent Organizational skills
