Our Premium Audit team is currently seeking a Senior Regional Premium Auditor. This is a full time, exempt role. Position is eligible for a fully remote arrangement.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Regional Premium Auditor to support our audit operations across multiple states within the region. This advanced-level role is ideal for a seasoned professional who brings strong technical expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to oversee complex audits with minimal supervision. The Senior Regional Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring accurate premium development, quality audit delivery, and compliance with regulatory and underwriting standards.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Conduct higher complexity premium audits for commercial lines policies including Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and other specialty lines as assigned.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by supporting auditors, answering technical questions, and assisting with training efforts.
  • Review and validate audit findings for accuracy and completeness; provide coaching or corrective guidance to auditors when needed.
  • Communicate with policyholders, agents, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to resolve audit disputes, clarify data discrepancies, and ensure timely audit completion.
  • Contribute to regional quality assurance initiatives, internal reviews, and process improvement projects.
  • Analyze audit trends, identify exposure or classification inconsistencies, and escalate concerns to Underwriting.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines, industry standards, and state-specific rules that impact premium audits.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level auditors to enhance overall team capability and audit quality.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years of premium audit experience, with strong exposure to multi-state and complex audit scenarios.
  • Expertise in Workers’ Compensation and General Liability classifications, rating principles, and premium development.
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive reviews of financial records, payroll documentation, general ledgers, and tax filings.
  • Strong professional communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage regional responsibilities with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in audit software, Microsoft Office products, and digital communication tools.
  • Professional designations such as APA, CPAN, CPCU, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state regulatory differences and complex business operations.
  • Experience handling high-profile accounts or escalated audit disputes.
  • Familiarity with Nexus Audit platform.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license. Overnight travel may be required.
  • Exposure to policyholder operations; for example: extreme noise and heat
  • Ability to work cooperatively
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently outside of an office setting

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
