About this role

As an Area Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and timely flow of plant production, delivering high‑quality products to the next operation and ultimately to the customer. You will lead day‑to‑day operations, drive business performance across safety, quality, cost, and delivery, and develop a strong, engaged workforce. This role demands decisive leadership, operational discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement at the floor level.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production flow while ensuring all products meet quality standards before moving to the next operation or customer.
  • Promote and model safety in every aspect of plant operations. Ensure adherence to all procedures, audits, standard work, and compliance requirements within the department.
  • Coach, develop, and support hourly associates while fostering a positive team culture. Hold employees accountable for achieving operational objectives and performance standards.
  • Translate Business Center (BCE) strategies to the production floor, ensuring alignment between plant objectives and daily operational activities.
  • Develop and sustain a culture of continuous improvement within your team. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and overall performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in manufacturing or military leadership; or 5+ years of relevant work experience.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience in tire manufacturing processes preferred.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

  • Knowledge of safety and quality procedures, HR policies, and budgeting practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.

  • Shift Schedule:

    • 12‑hour shifts: 6 AM–6 PM (Day) / 6 PM–6 AM (Night)
    • 28‑day rotating pattern with both day & night shifts
    • Regular built‑in days off throughout the rotation

Goodyear offers a competitive pay and comprehensive total rewards package designed with your physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing in mind.  The pay range for this position is

$70,955.00 - $158,128.00

However, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. You will also be eligible for a number of benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.
