The Front Climbing Club started as Utah's first indoor climbing gym and grew into something much bigger - a place where movement, creativity, and community collide. From climbing to cafés to art studios, we build spaces where people can explore what excites them and feel like they belong.
Studio 1396 continues that tradition by giving members a welcoming place to express themselves through ceramics.
As Ceramics Studio Staff, you'll inspire members to explore clay through hands-on instruction, thoughtful guidance, and a supportive studio environment.
Location: Studio 1396
Pay: $19–$21/hour (based on experience and skillset)
Schedule: Hourly, non-exempt; evenings and weekends as needed
You'll collaborate with the Studio Manager and studio leads to deliver classes, support open studio time, and keep the space running smoothly.
Teach and demonstrate ceramic techniques like handbuilding, wheel throwing, glazing, and kiln firing
Collaborate on lesson plans, projects, and curriculum for varying skill levels
Foster an inclusive, creative environment where members feel encouraged to experiment
Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and equipment
Recycle and process clay using drills and pug mills
Assist with kiln loading, firing schedules, and unloading
Educate members on studio safety, tools, and material handling
Help produce indoor and outdoor planter pots for Front locations
Support department resources like SOPs, audits, and studio documentation
Pitch in across departments when needed to enhance the overall member experience
You might be a great fit if you:
Have 2+ years of ceramics studio experience and a strong technical foundation
Bring 5+ years of general work experience
Are confident with handbuilding, wheel throwing, surface techniques, glazing, and firing
Enjoy teaching and mentoring artists of different skill levels
Communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally
Stay organized while juggling multiple projects and deadlines
Care deeply about customer experience and community
Have a sharp eye for detail and high standards for cleanliness and safety

The Front Climbing Club is Utah's premier spot to climb and recreate year-round. Built within striking distance of the Wasatch, we've created an indoor rock utopias with 50,000 square feet of bouldering and rope climbing walls.
