Powered by innovation and a deep passion for the restaurant industry, we create unique dining experiences across 11 countries.</p> <p>We’re part of the Tripadvisor Group and proud to be building a diverse, people-first culture where “respect”, “ownership”, “growth” and “better together” values thrive. <br>If you’re passionate about food, technology, and making a real impact, your seat at the table is ready.<br><br>&nbsp;👉<a href="https://www.careers.thefork.com"> Discover life at TheFork</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you will do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The Journey Enablers team sits at the heart of the Core and Commons tribe at TheFork.Our goal&nbsp; is to build <strong>transversal non-functional capabilities</strong> that are consumed by all tribes.&nbsp;</li> <li>The team’s scope includes <strong>Authentication,</strong> <strong>Translation management, Transactional communications (SMS, Emails &amp; Push notifications), Geo referential system </strong>and more</li> <li>The team is responsible for building the <strong>enablers strategy</strong> and ensuring the <strong>technical excellence</strong> of the core components, in other words:</li> <ul> <li>Designing components that are up to date with the technical standards</li> <li>Building maintainable and scalable core components</li> <li>Building and maintaining third party integrations with multiple providers (Twilio, Phrase, Braze to name a few)</li> <li>Ensuring smooth integration with customer facing capabilities</li> <li>Delivering the necessary tools to the feature teams using our components (dev portals, documentation, guidelines, test utils…)</li> <li>Providing the technical KPIs to monitor the components execution health</li> </ul> </ul> <ul> <li>The team is not directly in charge of implementing the new features for the end user. Instead, in addition to its own projects, <strong>the team will support the “customer-facing” teams</strong> by providing new capabilities in the core components when needed.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>The Journey Enablers team is already composed of <strong>3 engineers</strong> (Backend developers), mostly <strong>senior profiles</strong>. The team is distributed across different locations (France, with contractors in Portugal)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>The technical stack used by the team:</li> <ul> <li><strong>GraphQL</strong> for front-end APIs</li> <li><strong>NodeJS &amp; Typescript </strong>for backend services structured in a &nbsp; <strong>microservice-based architecture</strong></li> <li><strong>Json RPC</strong> for internal communications with services&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>PHP / Symfony for a few legacy components that are being decommissioned&nbsp;</li> <li>Storage is mostly handled by <strong>PostgreSQL &amp; ElasticSearch</strong></li> <li>Domain events are propagated through <strong>RabbitMQ</strong> as an event bus</li> <li>Our websites and servers are monitored with <strong>Datadog</strong> for 24x7 operations and ease of troubleshooting</li> <li>We are <strong>100% Kubernetes &amp; AWS</strong> for orchestration &amp; hosting</li> </ul> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <ul> <li>As a Senior Backend engineer in the team, you are expected to contribute to the team’s roadmap &amp; delivery</li> <ul> <li>Working closely with our product manager, tribe architect &amp; staff engineer on the functional and technical discovery of new features (understanding requirements, defining technical analysis and scoping the technical tasks)</li> <li>Working closely with your fellow senior engineers on the development and delivery of these features</li> <li>Helping our QA team during testing and validation&nbsp;</li> <li>Taking technical leadership and ownership of end to end projects in the team’s scope</li> <li>Becoming a technical referee on the team’s scope and ensure the technical excellence of the team’s delivery</li> <li>Collaborating transversally with other teams from all the tribes across the engineering department to ensure cross functional alignment</li> <li>Producing relevant documentation for processes in the team’s scope</li> <li>Continuously improving the team’s processes and KPIs</li> </ul> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>You Must Meet These Critical Qualifications</strong></p> <p><br><br></p> <ul> <li>You are an <strong>experienced</strong> <strong>Backend</strong> <strong>software engineer</strong> with relevant years of experience building <strong>backend </strong>services and applications</li> <li>You have a solid technical background in web technologies (<strong>6-10 years</strong>)</li> <li>You have a proven track record taking on big technical challenges &amp; demonstrated experience on <strong>distributed architectural patterns </strong>in the context of large scale applications</li> <li>You are a role model when it comes to <strong>taking technical leadership</strong> and <strong>ownership</strong> and centering teams around technical excellence</li> <li>You are rigorous, dynamic &amp;
