How will you contribute to our success?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Labour Relations, you will act as an HR partner supporting CSL’s strategy and values across the Canadian fleet. You will be the go-to resource for managers and sailing employees on all HR aspects: management, relations, engagement, development, culture, and disciplinary measures. Your main tasks will include:

  • Advising managers on all HR-related matters connected to their daily operations and management decisions.
  • Supporting managers and employees to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assisting managers onboard the vessels in handling disciplinary files, action plans, and recommendations for performance follow-up in a unionized environment.
  • Ensuring proper management of HR programs and processes such as the performance management process and the talent review process.
  • Participating in the drafting and revision of policies.
  • Analyzing employee engagement data and supporting onboard managers by proposing initiatives to improve results.
  • Providing strategic HR recommendations aimed at optimizing organizational effectiveness and achieving established objectives (transfers, promotions, succession planning), while ensuring fairness and consistency in the treatment of all employees.

  • Solid knowledge of Canadian labor laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork mindset and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage delicate situations and handle confidential information discreetly.
  • CRHA designation: an asset.
  • Be comfortable with frequent travel time spent onboard our vessels.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).

Knowledge of English is necessary for this role due to daily interactions with colleagues, clients and partners who are mainly located outside Quebec and in order to understand regulatory requirements and technical instructions and specifications.
