JOB SUMMARY 

The Director of Development holds a crucial position in implementing the organization's resource development strategy. Responsibilities include overseeing donors and stakeholders, with a focus on enhancing financial support and involvement with TCC. This role involves close collaboration to execute the development strategy, fostering relationships to expand resources, and actively engaging donors to align their interests with the mission of TCC. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop annual plans to execute for resource development.   
  • Build an infrastructure to manage resource development information. 
  • Cultivate relationships, identify new prospects, and engage in donor acquisition, solicitation, and stewardship. 
  • Build materials and content based on the work and goals of the agency. 
  • Articulate activities and impact of the agency, building them into products to communicate externally. 
  • Develop and manage grant strategy with Funders. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with major donors, stakeholders, or funding sources. Ensure personalized and meaningful interactions with major donors or funding sources.
  • Plans and develops communication to support marketing activities. 
  • Develop materials to be produced for external audiences that reflect agency impact. 
  • Utilize findings to generate leads and initiate cultivation of prospects. 
  • Develop a base of information and build activities to execute (with priorities). 
  • Utilize data and analytics to track and evaluate the effectiveness of activities. 
  • Build a framework to analyze the most impactful opportunities for community reach and resources. 
  • Ensure that all development and media activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. 
  • Maintains positive community involvement and attends professional meetings, as appropriate. 
  • Educates and informs the general public regarding our service offerings throughout our service catchment areas. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Certified Fundraising Executive; CFRE would be preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in development with experience in donor engagement.
  • Success with capital campaign preferred. 
  • Salary commensurate with experience.  

Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities  

  • Proven track record of securing significant gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Self-starter who can work independently as needed. 
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of the Greater Cincinnati community and philanthropic landscape.
  • A passion for the mission and values of TCC.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move up to but not limited to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Keyboard data entry is also required.
