The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting monthly and quarterly close processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Senior Accountant will support acquisition integrations, work closely with other departments, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger & Close Activities
    • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
    • Analyze account balances and investigate variances.
  • Financial Reporting Support
    • Assist in preparing internal financial reports and schedules for leadership and auditors.
    • Maintain fixed asset schedules, accruals, and prepaid accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
    • Contribute to accounting systems upgrades and automation initiatives.
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested documentation.
    • Help maintain documentation for key controls and accounting procedures.
  • M&A & Integration Support
    • Assist in onboarding acquired companies into the accounting system.
    • Help reconcile opening balance sheets and standardize financial reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting or multi-entity industry experience preferred.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and proactive with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction, distribution, manufacturing, or specialty contracting industries.
  • Exposure to acquisition integration and purchase accounting.
  • Familiarity with intercompany accounting and consolidations.
