The Data Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing cable infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the worksite while also providing excellent customer service. 

Essential Functions
•    Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of cable systems and associated hardware.
•    Responsible for the use of hand and power tools as well as work in small spaces and from various heights. 
•    Assists with housekeeping for a safe job site
•    Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
•    Demonstrated ability to ask applicable questions and willingness to learn new skills. 
•    Punctuality and consistent daily attendance
•    BASIC HAND TOOLS OWNED BY EMPLOYEE, (DRILL, SNIPS, SCREDRIVERS)  
•    Ability to use basic hand and power tools to perform assigned job site tasks. 
•    Understanding of safety as it relates to each division and the use of appropriate safety measures in daily tasks.
•    Current and valid US driver’s license preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
•    No technical or previous industry experience. Higher wages reserved for similar background/experience (Construction, Electrical, or some sort of tradecraft). 
•    OSHA 10 preferred but not required for hire.  

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

 

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
