This position is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / large-scale audiovisual systems. 

Essential Functions
•    Design, plan and install AV systems
•    Provide AV installation project oversight and updates
•    Inventory AV devices and materials intended for installation
•    Test and verify functionality of newly installed AV systems
•    Perform AV system maintenance and repair as needed

Minimum Qualifications
•    Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency
•    Formal education in electronics or a related field preferred
•    Excellent experience with audiovisual or other electro-mechanical installation techniques, or field servicing
•    Experience working in public places (schools, city/state offices, etc.)
•    Industry certifications (Panduit, Systimax, BICSI, etc.)
•    Valid driver’s license required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
•    Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints accurately 
•    Understanding of cable routing standards 
         o    Cable installation 
         o    Pathway installation 
•    Beginning or entry level industry/manufacturer certifications/training, examples include: 
         o    AVIXA 
         o    QSC 
         o    Crestron 
         o    CTS 
         o    Extron 
         o    Shure 
         o    Synaudcon entry level training 
•    Projector and screen installation 
•    Display and mount installation 
•    Speaker installation 
•    Entry level rack building  
         o    Building of 2 and 4 post AV cabinets both floor mount and wall mount  
         o    Grounding and Bonding of AV systems within cabinets and racks 
         o    Proper cable management inside AV cabinets and racks 
         o    Understanding of AV line drawings 
         o    Understanding the difference between balanced vs. unbalanced audio cabling 
•    Ability to track and document red line drawings 
•    Entry level loading code and firmware 
•    OSHA 10 
•    Aerial lift certification 
•    Fall protection certification/training. 
•    Effective communication internally and externally. 
•    Demonstrating knowledge of looking ahead at potential issues and notifying the appropriate people.

 

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

 

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
