As the Senior Manager for Cigna Healthcare Clinical (CHC) Clinical Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, elevating, and unifying our clinical voice across the enterprise. You will lead the strategy, storytelling, and execution that enable CHC teams, executives, and partners to communicate with clarity, impact, and consistency. This role is ideal for a strategic communicator who thrives at translating clinical complexity into accessible, compelling narratives that strengthen understanding, alignment, and engagement across audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead CHC’s enterprise-wide communications strategy that promotes clarity, alignment, and strategic outcomes across clinical programs and initiatives.

  • Strengthen CHC’s identity by developing engaging narratives about clinical milestones, innovations, outcomes, and enterprise priorities.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to CHC Clinical executives—crafting presentations, speeches, and messaging for internal, client-facing, and industry events.

  • Develop and refine sales-aligned messaging for RFPs, RFIs, finalist meetings, and external discussions in partnership with cross-functional partners.

  • Oversee CHC’s internal communication channels—newsroom updates, executive announcements, newsletters, and the ‘Coffee with the CMO’ series—ensuring tone, clarity, and strategic consistency.

  • Own and maintain CHC’s communications operating model, including content libraries, templates, style guides, and approval workflows.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, clinical, and enterprise communications teams to ensure accuracy, alignment, and brand consistency across all materials.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications team by setting priorities, coaching talent, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Establish quality standards that ensure communications reflect accuracy, clinical credibility, and strategic alignment.

  • Support special projects and urgent enterprise communications that require rapid, high-quality messaging.

Qualifications (Required)

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare, clinical, or enterprise communications.

  • Advanced writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex clinical topics.

  • Proven experience advising and influencing senior leaders in high-impact environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading communications strategies across matrixed organizations.

  • People leadership experience with the ability to develop talent and guide team performance.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience in payer, provider, care delivery, or healthcare services organizations.

  • Knowledge of CHC, Enterprise Messaging House, and clinical value frameworks.

  • Experience developing communications for RFP processes, client-facing materials, or sales enablement.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,700 - 217,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
