As part of the Customer Insights team is looking for an individual whose analytical mind and curious nature can navigate through a variety of data and identify trends and opportunities related to our clients’ claims experience.  This role is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 

  

As a Senior Analyst, you will use your analytical skills, technical abilities and critical thinking mindset to analyze data, look for trends, and provide insights to help our customers understand their benefit plan experience.  With a focus on continuous improvement, you will lead reporting strategy to support initiatives, refine existing reporting and analyses and look to explore new avenues to support customers in managing their benefit plan impact and costs. 

 

What you will do:

  • Be accountable for the delivery of regular and ad-hoc claims reports for Workplace Solutions customers. 
  • Execute on existing reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate production of claims reporting. 
  • Refine existing client reporting templates and reporting processes to meet evolving customer needs. 
  • Use data to tell a story; draw the “so what?” out of the analysis to ensure meaningful insights are delivered to customers. 
  • Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders at multiple levels of the business with the ability to make decisions and influence ideas/opinions 
  • Ongoing support of existing and newly developed models. 
  • Support and resolution of customer inquiries regarding the Experience and Claims section on GroupNet for Plan Administration. 
  • Address and resolve direct inquiries from customers, advisors, consulting houses, and account management for Group Health business 
  • Help foster a data-driven, customer-centric environment 
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in business analytics, focused on the use of visualization to improve consumption of insights.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Canadian Group Benefits claims trends, changes in regulatory regime and economic conditions. 

 

What you will bring:

  • Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving with strong decision-making skills 
  • Collaborative mindset to build relationships across functions and the business 
  • Strong analytical skills with a math aptitude 
  • Strong technical skills, specifically knowledge and experience with SQL, MS Excel, Azure Databricks, and Python. 
  • Experience with visualization tools including R, Python and Power BI would be considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of group benefits, including retirement solutions as well as health, dental, and disability benefits, would be considered an asset.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to tell a story with data. 
  • Post-Secondary education with a focus in Math/Statistics/Economics/Computer Science or Business. 
  • Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website 

 

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Winnipeg, Toronto and London.

The base salary for this position is between $59,800 - $109,700 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
