Your role

As a Head of Front-end Engineering, you will be part of the Data & AI Solutions Engineering team in our Healthcare R&D business. Your expertise will drive further development, deployment and continuous improvement of critical products contributing to the overall success of our R&D efforts in discovery and development of new drugs.    

You will lead a team of 6 talented front-end engineers, providing expert guidance and direction for the development of innovative front-end solutions for our data and AI products. You will collaborate with other engineering teams, product leadership, and architecture teams as well as business experts and leaders to ensure the appropriate choice of technology and staffing for the delivery and maintenance of our products on time, quality, and budget. Furthermore, you will mentor and develop the team to upskill on new technologies and adopt new tools to deliver state of the art user experiences.

You will join a multicultural team working in agile methodologies and having high autonomy in decision-making. The role reports to the Head of Engineering and requires office presence at our Bangalore location.

Who you are

• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience as a senior contributor in front-end/dashboard development.

• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with 3+ years of experience leading a technical team.
• Experience overseeing the architecture and design of front-end systems, ensuring security, scalability, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Technical expertise in (front-end and back-end) programming combined with the ability to develop and implement best practices for coding standards, testing, and deployment processes.
• Thorough understanding of how to leverage modern front-end technologies for dashboarding solutions (e.g., Tableau), simple data-driven application (e.g., Streamlit, R/Shiny) and complex bespoke systems (e.g., React, Next.js).
• Experience in delivering front-end solutions, which provide a captivating user experience (UX) and follow established user interface (UI) principles.
• In-depth knowledge of data modelling, data contracts, data storage systems (e.g., data warehouses, relations databases, NoSQL databases, data lakes), and data governance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
