Opportunity Snapshot:
- Compensation: $30-57/hour DOE
- Location: Midkiff, TX
- Assignment Duration: 12 months+
- Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+
- Benefits: Comprehensive with 401K, holidays and PTO
Responsibilities
Assists in the maintenance of one or more compressors with responsibility of the compressor packages and equipment
Provides feedback for the operation of compressor packages
Planning and organization of PMs and other maintenance items
- May assist other field locations/mechanics
- Communicate and respond to other contractors and XOM personnel, emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
Qualifications
- OEM, Trade School or comparable work experience in related field/industry
- Some knowledge in gas processes, mechanic of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.)
- 1-year compression process, production, and equipment related experience and/or training
- Electrical Troubleshooting skills
- Main competencies: teamwork, effective communication, both written and oral, analytical capability, Mechanical aptitude, self-motivation and self-control, initiative, planning and problem solving
- Possess basic knowledge of compressor packages, including some components and systems
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Ability to move and maintain self in different positions—stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Working knowledge of relevant safety procedures and regulations
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Valid Driver’s License, with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within the acceptable parameters of Company Policy, required.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent

What you'll do
- The Compressor Mechanic assists in the maintenance of compressors and is responsible for compressor packages and equipment. They also provide feedback on operations and plan maintenance tasks.
