The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Finance and Business Operations Undergraduate intern for a full-time opportunity located onsite in El Segundo, California.

As part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will provide support for projects across cross-functional organizations enabling Senior Leaders to make decisions based on timely and accurate data analysis. These projects will support analyzing schedule and finance data; developing, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators; identifying program and project risks.  This will also include process improvements, helping with Enterprise data strategies and innovative business analytics. You will work closely with the Group CFOs, Finance Managers, and Financial Analysts to collaborate on a consistent vision and implementation of financial policies, practices, and processes throughout the Company.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engage in the planning process and tracking of financial analysis and related metrics at various levels

  • Assists management team with preparing annual budget requests

  • Provide inputs on budget performance by working with monthly budget and execution reporting

  • Engage Group CFOs and Finance Managers on financial trends, reporting unit performance, and recommended corrective actions to achieve financial plans

  • Support the effort behind implementing new business data analytics and metrics used as Key Performance indicators (KPI) or financial performance across the Enterprise

  • Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline

  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship

  • Junior class standing completed by internship start date

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Completion of a minimum of two classes in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or other Business-related subjects prior to internship

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Exposure to data visualization concepts in coursework, projects, presentations, and project management

  • Transcripts required

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher 

  • Experience crafting data visualization dashboards

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
