Reporting to Software Engineering Director 

 
Location: GO Centre, Kuala Lumpur 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Lead and inspire at least 2 engineering squads (approximately 14 engineers) augmented with Devin AI agents 

  • Drive adoption and optimization of AI-assisted development practices within teams 

  • Partner with Product Management to deliver features meeting quality and timeline commitments 

  • Hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent as part of KL GOC expansion 

  • Implement and refine Kanban practices to maximize team velocity and predictability 

  • Ensure code quality, technical documentation, and engineering best practices 

  • Collaborate with peer managers and architects on cross-team initiatives 

  • Optimize human-AI collaboration to achieve productivity gains 

  • Manage technical debt while delivering new features (70/30 split) 

  • Foster culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning 

  • Conduct performance reviews and career development planning 

 

Technical Requirements 

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in people management 

  • Strong hands-on expertise in .NET or relevant domain technology stack, AI-native development tools including GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants, with ability to coach teams on prompt engineering and optimize human-AI pair programming workflows 

  • Proficiency in Azure cloud services and cloud-native architectures 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, specifically Kanban 

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices 

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Devin, Copilot, or similar) 

  • Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems 

  • For Accountant Domain: Experience with polyglot environments (Ruby, PHP) is valuable 

  • Ability to conduct code reviews and architectural discussions 

  • Experience with modern software development practices (TDD, pair programming)

Additional Information 

  • Part of a new strategic engineering leadership team based in KL GOC 

  • Critical role in KL GOC expansion building new squads 

  • Office Flex arrangement (3 days office, 2 days remote) 

  • Report to Software Engineering Director  

  • Lead minimum 2 squads with ~7 engineers each plus Devin AI agents 

  • High autonomy in defining team practices and culture

This Software Engineering Manager role offers the exciting opportunity to build and lead new engineering squads from the ground up while pioneering AI-assisted development practices. You'll manage engineers across at least 2 squads, drive Kanban adoption, and achieve significant productivity gains through human-AI collaboration. Success means building high-performing teams with <10% attrition, achieving >85% delivery predictability, and establishing a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
