Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS)

The AMS Work Package Manager (WPM) is responsible for delivering software work packages for our portfolio of air traffic management systems developed in Bucharest within an international environment. The WPM is part of the project management team and is accountable for quality, budget and schedule. The WPM interacts directly with the project management teams, ensuring the team interface to all ongoing projects.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Monitor and control the work package progress through rigorous planning of activities and their dependencies;
  • Build the consolidated workload of the development team as an input to the Team Leader for organizing resources.
  • Act as an interface towards the project management teams and actively support requirements clarification;
  • Contribute to the definition of the Product Backlog in cooperation with the Product Owner.
  • Attend projects coordination/management meetings;
  • Report on work package status to project management teams;
  • Organize and moderate workshops on technical issues within the scope of ongoing or upcoming projects;
  • Actively support team cooperation inside the organization and with other Thales entities;
  • Supervise the adherence to defined development processes;
  • Monitor “Key Performance Indicators” related to efficiency and quality of the team results;
  • Warrant project’s financial objectives: master realization cost, risks and opportunities management;
  • Coordinate workload of different projects with support of Software Engineering Manager/System Engineering Manager to ensure a fluid workload within the team;
  • Anticipate potential risks, propose and implement corresponding mitigation measures;
  • Develop competences and skills of team members according to project needs in cooperation with Team Leader.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Education/Qualification:

  • Technical University Degree (e.g. in Computer Science, Electronics, Informatics, Automation Systems, Airspace or other related fields);
  • IT/Programming knowledge;
  • Project management know-how, analytical and structured working approach, ability to work on own initiative and within a team;
  • Takes decisions and keeps a global overview of overall process;
  • Wide degree of creativity and flexibility is expected, also excellent communication skills are required for collaboration with colleagues within the management - all levels.

Requested technical competencies:

  • At least 5 years of experience in software development/testing/project management, handling industrial, technical and contractual constraints;
  • Good knowledge of development process;
  • Ability to understand and debate on complex technical issues;
  • Knowledge of project management, configuration and change management tools.

  • Project management abilities, among which:
    • Be highly organized and a good multi-tasker;
    • Take charge and know how to lead;
    • Be an effective communicator;
    • Know how and when to negotiate;
    • Be detail-oriented;
    • Recognize and solve problems quickly.

  • Interpersonal skills (sociability, self- control, empathy, assertiveness);

  • Proved willingness in taking over responsibility;
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure;
  • Proactive attitude, rigorous and autonomous.

Languages:

  • English – fluent.

  • Air traffic management know-how would be an advantage;
  • Experience working in safety critical domains;
  • Proven experience working with Agile teams;
  • French.
