Proxy Product Owner

"WHO ARE WE?"

The Defence Mission Systems activity supplies equipment, solutions, and services related to electronic combat systems, surveillance and reconnaissance, naval combat, surface and underwater warfare systems. 

The Bengaluru Engineering Competence Center develops sonar systems for submarines and surface ships, covering everything from underwater acoustics to the operator’s graphical user interface (GUI).

The GUI team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the operational GUIs used by sonar operators. These GUIs are the eyes and ears of submarines and surface vessels.

"WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER"

The submarine GUI team is looking for an PO Proxy. Within the submarine team, your mission will be to:

• Appropriate the production roadmap and the business needs defined by the Product Owner ;
• Act as the bridge between the Product Owner and the engineering teams to deliver a reliable sonar application.
• Contribute to epics and user stories in coordination with the Product Owner.
• Work with stakeholders to refine scope, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done.
• Ensure releases meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide functional support to the local GUI development team as a PO relay
• Participate to testing activities for the delivered software
• Synchronize with the project PO to ensure real-time alignment of all actors.

Must have:

• Solid experience in software backlog management and agile methodology, in a web application project (at least 5 years)
• Solid experience in writing functional documentation (specification, test cases, user stories)
• BE/BTech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, or related
• Being autonomous, rigorous, and passionate about sharing your knowledge and acquiring new competencies
• Be able to travel to France frequently (1 month and a half in France during ramp-up period, then up to a week every trimester)

Nice to have:

• MTech in relevant engineering
• Good experience in embedded software and real time complex applications
• Ability to understand sonar workflows, signal/data processing, and system integration.
• Experience in software development
• Basics of acoustics, DSP, maritime operations, or defense-grade software.
