About Your Role
 

Our Garden Island site is focused on naval ship repair for both defence and civilian vessels ranging from basic maintenance to major overhauls.  Pipe Fabricators are required to provide manufacture and installation of pipework in relation to ship repair, this role is based in both a workshop, aboard all types of vessels and buildings with the use of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals in support of the Naval business in this wide and varied role.

Responsibilities include;

  • Ability to Jig up, Mark off, bend and fabricate pipework.

  • Operation of workshop machinery and operation of e.g. Hydraulic Benders, threading machines etc

  • Work across a variety of environments on naval vessels

  • Assist with developing the skills of apprentices

  • Working a team environment which encourages new ideas and improvements

How About You?

  • Cert III Plumbing essential

  • Experience in MIG , TIG and Stick welding (Cert III Welding / Fabrication advantageous)

  • Forklift, Dogman, working and heights and confined spaces tickets (advantageous)

  • Safety conscious with sound problem-solving skills

  • Experience in ship repair or heavy industry highly regarded
