Job Title: Learning and Development IT Trainer

Location: Endeavour Square/ Hybrid

Number of roles: 2

 

Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

 

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to work with the Design and Delivery Lead Specialists (Tech and Data) and stakeholders from across TfL to support the design, development and delivery of technology related learning interventions to help meet business objectives. The role holder will do this by bringing a creative and innovative perspective to organisational learning and promoting by a strong culture of learning and development in line with TfL's values.

 

The role holder will also assist with maintenance and administration of TfL’s Learning Management System and online learning platforms to ensure learning information is kept up to date.

 

The role holder will also support the delivery of improved organisational performance and effectiveness through promoting the embedding of, adherence to and compliance with global H2R processes, driving continuous improvement in Learning & Development (L&D) learning interventions and by providing support and guidance to L&D customers.

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Support the design, development, delivery and evaluation of Tech and Data (T&D) related learning interventions across TfL (e.g.IM programmes, SAP, Customer Experience and Asset Management Systems) to deliver effective learning solutions and enable L&D to deliver on agreed performance metrics
  • Partner with relevant subject matter experts (SME) and 3rd parties in support of the design, development and delivery of T&D learning interventions
  • Report any system issues, non-attendance or insights on training to Design & Delivery Lead Specialists (T&D) to ensure the quality of the T&D Learning and Development learning interventions
  • Support Customers by resolving queries and managing their expectations through education on L&D products and initiatives
  • Support TfL people managers and stakeholders to understand the learning and training resources available to their employees and to promote the services of online learning
  • Improve the design, development and delivery of existing training to create fit for purpose, effective learning solutions that achieve the learner objectives and meet business needs
  • Contribute to driving required cultural attributes across the team including a focus on compliance and service delivery, customer service excellence, and a focus on controlled continuous improvement
  • Ensure that L&D activities and interventions are high impact, that internal customers value ‘learning’, and that they have a positive experience of the Learning and Development team as well as continually seeking ways to improve learning activity
  • Work with the Design and Delivery Lead Specialists (T&D) to provide feedback on supplier designs to ensure appropriate learning quality

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of how to design learning interventions across TfL through various methods to meet business needs
  • Can create learning content to meet business needs
  • Can design and facilitate face to face and virtual learning interventions
  • Can design and develop learning content in a variety of media (eg video, digital guides)

 

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Learning and Development processes across the employee lifecycle
  • Knowledge of learning systems and content development
  • Knowledge of management development and staff development delivery
  • Awareness of with third party suppliers in the learning and skills area
  • Knowledge of learning systems and T&D content development and delivery
  • Knowledge in a key T&D delivery area: e.g. SAP domain knowledge (SAP HR / Finance), IM programmes (End User Computing, Office 365), Customer Experience training and related programmes (eg Visitor Centres, CCO), Asset Management systems used by TfL(Maximo/Ellipse), Document Management Systems (Sharepoint, TDM/LivelinkTfL/LU)
  • Knowledge of digital instructional design (Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud)

 

 

Experience

  • Experience of working in a Learning and Development function
  • Experience of working with of third parties to deliver learning solutions of a high standard
  • Experience of designing and developing T&D learning interventions in at least one of the T&D specialist areas (IM
  • programmes/SAP/ Customer Experience - Contact Centre Ops or asset management systems)
  • Experience of designing, developing and delivering digital content using relevant software eg Articulate 360
