Salary- £73,416.00
Location – Signal House, Acton
Contract Type – Permanent – London Underground

Closing date – 2nd of February

 

This role requires night shift working

 

Overview of project/role

 

The post holder will be responsible for and act as an integral part of a group of staff assigned to maintaining a number of assets contracted to the Division. The Multi-Skilled Fitter will assume the responsibility for the progress of the job and for the standard of the work carried out ensuring that all relevant safety and quality standards, rules and procedures are adhered to. The post holder will also be a source of knowledge for the other members of the team and will be expected to solve the majority of the day to day engineering problems on the job.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Reporting on job progress.
  • Verifying the post holders group's attendance.
  • Ensuring all work is performed correctly using set procedures, to the highest standard and to ensure the necessary paperwork is accurately processed.
  • Ensuring the group's compliance with the Company's Safety and Quality Standards.
  • Ensuring the group’s compliance with the Division’s Safety Management System.
  • Acting as the Lift, Escalator and Pump Manager’s representative at all times.

Skills & Knowledge

 

The post holder will generally have been in the industry trained as an apprentice or have progressed through an adult training scheme and will be proficient in both mechanical and electrical engineering. The job holder to have proven experience in a similar role. In addition the post holder will:

 

  • Be able to follow laid down procedures for the relevant processes being carried out and work without supervision.
  • Have a full understanding of maintenance techniques, materials and methods.
  • Be self motivated and able to lead and work with a group of staff on matters related to safety and quality, e.g. Safety Reference Manual, Quality
  • Engineering Instructions, Health and Safety at Work Act, Personal Protective Equipment, Licences, etc.
  • Hold a current UK driving licence and will be prepared to drive non HGV company vehicles when required to do so.
