Description

Le spécialiste technique en fatigue et tolérance au dommage de la cellule (structure) prépare des rapports d’analyses et des plans d’essais structures dans le but de supporter la conception, le développement, la fabrication, les essais structuraux, les essais en vol, la certification et l’opération de la gamme de produits commerciaux de Bell.

Responsabilités

  • Effectuer des analyses de fatigue à l’aide des méthodes de calcul standards de l’industrie et des méthodes d’analyse par éléments finis.
  • Effectuer des analyses de tolérance aux dommages (propagation de fissure) à l’aide des méthodes standards de l’industrie.
  • Préparer des plans d’essai structuraux en définissant les requis et objectifs en lien avec la réglementation pour la certification des hélicoptères commerciaux.
  • Supporter l’équipe d’essais structuraux en validant les résultats et en donnant des directives lors de la préparation et l’exécution des essais structuraux.
  • Supporter l’équipe de conception en appliquant les facteurs de conception tels que la fonction, les matériaux, le rendement, l’interchangeabilité, le poids en lien avec les exigences de résistance à la fatigue.
  • Appliquer les modèles d’analyse scientifique et mathématique pour prédire et mesurer les résultats et les conséquences de la conception en matière de contrainte, de robustesse, de durée de vie et d’alternatives.
  • Mettre au point des cellules de haut rendement à l’aide de logiciels tels que CATIA V6/CATIA V5, de calculs manuels classiques et d’analyse par éléments finis.

Qualifications

Études requises

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, en génie aérospatial ou dans une discipline équivalente.
  • Maîtrise sera préférée.

Exigences du poste

  • Au moins 3 ans d’expérience dans l’analyse de fatigue de structure.
  • Bonne connaissance des méthodes d’analyse classiques pour les composantes métalliques et non-métalliques.
  • Connaissance de base des matériaux et méthodes de fabrication de l’industrie aéronautique.
  • Bonne connaissance des méthodes d’analyse par éléments finis. Connaissance de l’environnement NASTRAN/PATRAN sera préférée.
  • Connaissance de CATIA V6 ou CATIA V5 et Enovia sera préférée.
  • Connaissances fonctionnelles en francais
  • Connaissances fonctionnelles en anglais, ce poste nécessite des communications en anglais avec les équipes de Bell hors Québec et/ou ses fournisseurs, partenaires et clients hors Québec
  • Expérience de l’environnement AFGROW sera préférée.
  • Connaissance en analyse de fatigue et tolérance au dommage sera préférée.
  • Expérience en analyse de contraintes statique sera préférée.

Description

The Technical Specialist, Airframe Fatigue and Damage Tolerance, creates analysis reports and prepares test plans to support the design, development, manufacture, structural test, flight test, certification and continued airworthiness of Bell's commercial product line. This position is based at Bell’s Mirabel facility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform fatigue analysis using industry standard calculations methods and finite element analysis methods.
  • Perform damage tolerance analysis (crack propagation) using industry standard calculations
  • Prepares structural test plans by defining the requirements and objectives in accordance with the certification regulation for the certification of helicopters.
  • Support the structural test team by validating the test results and providing direction during test preparation and execution.
  • Support the design team by applying design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, weight in relation with the fatigue requirements.
  • Applies scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcome and consequence of design, in terms of stress, strength, life, and alternatives.
  • Methods include the use of CATIA V6 / CATIA V5 and a balance of classical hand calculations and FE tools to develop high performance airframe structures. 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent discipline is required.
  • Masters Degree is preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 3 years structural fatigue analysis experience.
  • Good knowledge of classical structural analysis methods for metallic and non metallic materials
  • A general understanding of materials and manufacturing methods used in the Aerospace industry.
  • Good knowledge of Finite Element Analysis Methodology and good computational skills. Knowledge of the NASTRAN/PATRAN/HYPERMESH environment would be an asset.
  • Experience with Catia v5/v6 and ENOVIA would be an asset.
  • Functional knowledge of French is required
  • Functional knowledge of English is required for this position, as it involves communication in English with Bell teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers, partners, and clients outside of Quebec.
  • Experience supporting static and/or fatigue testing is preferred.
  • Experience with AFGROW would be asset.
  • Static stress analysis experience is preferred.
