About This Role

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading supply chain activities to effectively support all Textron Systems’ businesses. This includes establishing comprehensive and new supply chain strategies, leading optimal execution of purchasing activities, sub-contract management and supplier management. This leader will need to work collaboratively across business areas and functions to understand the needs of the business and drive supply chain execution and accountability to improve the service level provided to operations and customers, including cost, quality and delivery. This role will be located in Slidell, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a high-performing supply chain team of professionals focused on continuous improvement, customer service, and optimizing business performance.
     
  • Work closely with program management, engineering, and operations to ensure we meet the needs of the business in a fast paced and dynamic environment
     
  • Lead team members focus on procurement and sub-contract management to optimize cost-out, speed and on-time delivery.
     
  • Lead team members to ensure accuracy in procurement operations such as lead times, promise dates, forecasts, etc.
     
  • Serve as the Material Lead for ensuring acquisition revenue recognition goals are met on a quarterly and annual basis
     
  • Support quick-turn requirements for all domain needs.
     
  • Provide customer relationship management to internal customers.
     
  • Lead team members to provide optimum internal customer communications.
     
  • Leading complex supplier recovery or improvement projects with the SCM and Supplier Development Teams
     
  • Coordinate across the enterprise, site locations, and resources to balance work-load and optimize work assignments based on personnel skill levels. 
     
  • Perform data analytics and analysis and utilize to drive performance (accountability), identify improvement strategies, and enable proactive engagement with internal functions to improve business performance.
     
  • Drive performance by establishing key supply management metrics and establishing accountability for meeting performance objectives.
     
  • Ensure ethical behavior and maintain compliance to regulatory requirements


Qualifications

Required qualifications
 

  • Undergraduate 4-year degree (BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Operations or related business)
     
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, contracts or integrated supply chain operations
     
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in leadership capacity with direct reports
     
  • High integrity, credibility and character
     
  • Proven leadership skills and a strong communicator and listener
     
  • Cultural flexibility and adaptability, collaborates well across organizations
     
  • Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies
     
  • Skilled with contract formation and negotiating high-value contracts
     
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance

Preferred qualifications
 

  • Government contracting experience with FAR Part 12 and 15 Contracts of various cost types
     
  • Exposure and working knowledge of Earned Value System Management
     
  • Supporting new product development
     
  • Master’s Degree in related field
     
  • Previous experience with Lean principles or Six Sigma certification
     
  • CPM and/or CPIM
     
  • Technical and/or Manufacturing Operations experience or education
