Work location: Texas Health Prosper - 1970 West University Drive, Prosper, Texas 75078

Work hours:  PRN "as needed" - Must be available to work on Fridays from 3:00pm-11:30pm. Must also be available to work the entire week for the required call schedule every 5th week Monday-Friday 11:30pm-7am, Saturday 7am-7am, and Sunday 7am-7am.

Here's What You Need:

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Graduate of an AMA approved / accredited Ultrasound Program preferred
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital radiology preferred
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography and one additional modality required upon hire Or
  • ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers must have 2 certifications required upon hire And
  • Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography required upon hire
  • Competency in scanning/equipment operation. Excellent Communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam.
  • Images correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols.
  • Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Adjusts technical parameters to optimize image.
  • Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • Maintains ARDMS, CME credits and CPR yearly or when applicable (ARRT and CMRT if applicable).
