About this role

We are searching for a Technical Coordinator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide effective guidance and operation of the Laboratory in compliance with Departmental and Institutional goals. To coordinate, technical procedures to ensure that high-quality laboratory services and testing are provided to patients in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required

BB-ASCP, C-ASCP, CG-ASCP, CLSP-NCA, H-ASCP, HLT, M-ASCP, MB-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, MP-ASCP, MT-AMT, MT-ASCP, MT-STATE, SBB-ASCP, or SC-ASCP certification required

PhD in lieu of certification is acceptable

4 years experience in a laboratory setting, one (1) of which is in the area of specialization

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards

 

Responsibilities:

Collaborates on the performance of routine and complex procedures. Recognizes and solves administrative/operational problems. In conjunction with the Manager and Medical directors, develops new methodologies and procedures; coordinates the performance of method evaluations to include technical performance ease of use/performance, quality control, and maintenance; collates evaluation data for review; makes a recommendation for implementation.
 

Oversees the quality control/quality assurance programs. Works with the Manager to develop and maintain a quality program for the labratory to include setting quality control performance policies, calibration/calibration verification review of quality assurance data, and equipment. Works with the Manager to resolve issues identified. Develops and implements corrective actions in response to QA failures.
 

Facilitates Computer Operations. Maintains integrity of the system, file maintenance, report, label, and collection list printing as related to assignments and requirements for section/shift. Resolves worksheet and printer problems in section.
 

Coordinates and supports Continuing Education Programs. Maintains personal expertise level in area(s) of responsibility. Coordinates and facilitates continuing education events for the staff.
 

Assist with AD and/or Manager with financial operations. Maintains supply inventory. Monitors supply expenses and usage of consumables to stay within budget.
