Essential Duties/Tasks

Provides assistance and support in working closely with an administrative team

  • Determines own work priorities by closely communicating and working with team members on a regular basis

  • Embraces an environment of openness and respect among the team and individuals interacting with OSEP  

  • Ensures to check where training is needed to be successful 

Plans and implements post-event or -activity surveys to understand attendee data patterns

  • Quantitative data collection & analysis for ongoing or new research, namely survey data

  • Assists the team in developing and implementing surveys after an OSEP event/activity

  • Assist with qualitative data collection & analysis for any ongoing or new research

  • May conduct literature review about relevant research-related topics (may include retention, low-income, student success, STEM students, etc.)

Event preparation / execution

  • Co-prepare and support the department’s events or related activities representing OSEP

  • Marketing/communication support, including but not limited to creation and distribution of flyers and website management

  • Physical event support particularly leading up to, during, and after events, such as transferring supplies or gathering attendee lists

  • Monitor event calendar

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2 years' experience in Qualitative Research Techniques and experience working with student organizations

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TAMU community for 2+ years

  • Currently a student at TAMU or recent alumnus

  • Interest in social events or activities that promote student / TAMU community connections and interest in quantitative and/or qualitative research

  • Knowledge in Qualitative Research Techniques

  • Experience working with student organizations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Willingness to work closely with team members; frequent communication or ability to effectively and regularly communicate with team members

  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with students, staff, and any event attendees

  • Proficient in technology applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Google Docs)

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
