Position Summary
Pricebook Lead is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and profitability of Terrible’s retail price book across all convenience stores and fueling locations. This role ensures item data, retail pricing, promos, vendor information, and UPC integrity are consistently updated within the company systems. The Pricebook Lead supports merchandising, operations, and procurement teams to ensure smooth store execution and compliance with Terrible’s brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pricebook & Item Management
- Maintain the master price book for all Terrible’s locations, ensuring accurate item descriptions, UPCs, vendor item numbers, and retail pricing.
- Process new item setups, price changes, discontinued items, and vendor cost updates.
- Ensure consistency for packaged goods, snacks, drinks, tobacco, alcohol, automotive products, and C-store category items.
Fuel & Retail Pricing Support
- Assist with price updates across fuel and in-store merchandise categories as needed.
- Align pricing with corporate strategies, market competition, and regulatory requirements.
Vendor & Promo Integration
- Coordinate with vendors to maintain accurate cost files, promotional pricing, and rebate information.
- Upload promotional pricing and ensure promo timelines are correctly reflected in-store.
- Validate vendor compliance with contract costs and allowances.
Data Integrity & Auditing
- Perform routine audits for duplicates, incorrect UPCs, missing cost data, and margin inconsistencies.
- Ensure all items follow Terrible’s naming conventions, category structures, and tagging standards.
- Identify and correct pricing errors flagged by store managers or point-of-sale reports.
System Administration
- Manage price book updates within POS and back-office systems (e.g., PDI, Verifone, or company-specific retail systems).
- Support integration between price book, inventory management, and reporting platforms.
- Test new item uploads, system updates, and price changes for accuracy.
Cross Department Collaboration
- Work closely with merchandising, accounting, procurement, and operations teams to support store-level execution.
- Communicate pricing updates, new items, and promo changes to store leadership.
- Support store managers with price book-related questions or troubleshooting.
Reporting & Analysis
- Monitor margins and identify low or negative-margin items.
- Provide reporting on high-volume SKUs, sales trends, and performance category.
- Recommend pricing adjustments to improve revenue and profitability.
Qualifications
- Experience with retail price book management, preferably in convenience stores, fuel, or grocery retail.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort managing large volumes of SKU data.
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and POS back-office systems.
- Understanding of cost, retail pricing, margins, and promotions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience with PDI Enterprise, Verifone Commander, or similar C-store systems.
- Knowledge of fuel retail operations, tobacco compliance, and C-store merchandising standards.
- Multilocation retail or franchise experience.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable transportation is required for work-related responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, required to interpret documents, manuals, and communicate effectively with staff and management.
REASONING ABILITY
- Strong logical reasoning skills with the ability to apply policies and resolve problems using sound judgment.
- Capable of interpreting written, oral, and diagram instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSING, AND REGULATIONS
Employees must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods, use manual dexterity, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform duties in varying work conditions, including confined spaces.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Moderate noise levels are typical of casino operations.
- Occasional exposure to environments containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke.
