Opportunity Overview

Factory Applications Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Factory Applications Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test software to run on Teradyne’s Spectrum ATE platforms. Tasks may include generating test software to run on Teradyne’s Spectrum ATE platforms, using the C language, defining the interfaces between the customers Units Under Test (UUT) and the Teradyne tester, and creating customer-facing documentation of the Test Program Set (TPS). You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware and mechanical engineering to create reliable and high-performance test solutions.

 

  • Translate Customer Test Requirements to Design, Debug, and Integrate test software to run on Teradyne Spectrum ATE platform consisting of Digital, Analog, and high-speed bus instruments such as eDigital, FIOXI, PBI, DI, BTI, ATI
  • Support TPS conversions from legacy platforms
  • Working with internal hardware and mechanical teams, and\or 3rd party vendors
  • Define associated test fixturing, including test adapters, cabling, load boards, etc., including switching, filtering, signal conversion, and other functions.
  • Development of documentation to support Teradyne’s TPS services
  • Using tools including, TPS Convertor Studio, LASAR, TestStand, LabView, LabWindows, CVI, ATLAS, Test Studio
  • Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge technology.
  • Identify trends in customer TPS development to help guide the development of new Teradyne ATE instrumentation and software tools.

 

All About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Test Development Engineering or Application Engineering using Automated Test Equipment
  • Proficiency with ANSI C, C++, and C# programming languages
  • Comfortable with travel requirements which can be as much as 10% or greater
  • Understanding of the Test Program Set (TPS) software development life cycle process
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical, and PC Skills
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and apply them
  • Process oriented and continuous improvement focused
  • Ability to develop and maintain fellowship across departments
  • Prefer knowledge of graphical environments like TestStand or TestStudio
  • Prefer familiarity with the Teradyne L200/300, or Spectrum-9100
  • Prefer familiarity with Teradyne Digital Instrumentation and LASAR Simulation

 

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $97,800-$156,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
