JOB SUMMARY:
The Plant Manager is responsible for attaining a pre-defined, specific level of plant profit while
maintaining plant facilities, equipment and machinery at an acceptable level in an atmosphere of good
employee morale in a safe working place. This responsibility requires planning, organizing and
controlling through subordinate managerial personnel, the overall operations and functions of the plant,
including, but not limited to Accounting, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Data Processing,
Human Resources and Manufacturing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates the development and establishment of plant manufacturing objectives consistent with
forecast sales and production capacity.
• Coordinates the development of the Business Plan and annual capitals programs with proper
organization assignments of responsibility and priority to achieve plant objectives.
• Participates in developing long range strategic plans for his business unit and is responsible for
performance to these plans.
• Coordinates the development of a plant budget, monitors plant performance against the budget,
takes necessary action through cost control methods to attain budgetary objectives, and maximizes
use of investment in inventories and facilities.
• Consults with appropriate Corporate and Business Unit personnel regarding overall plant operation,
obtains Corporate and Business Unit functional assistance to the plant as required and exchanges
pertinent data with Corporate and Business Unit personnel in planning plant objectives. Participates
in overall Corporate and/or Business Unit objective planning.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: 4 year college degree in management, business, or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years in plant management preferred. Experience in automotive manufacturing
environment a plus.
REQUIREMENTS: • Good oral and written communication skills
• Strategic planning skills
• Well-versed in Constraint Management philosophy
• Good presentation skills
