Key Responsibilities

  • Test technician needed for afternoon shift support – nominal hours 2 pm – 10:30 pm, 5 days/week
  • Work with small team of technicians and engineers in brake dyno testing environment
  • Perform measurement of new and tested brake parts used in dyno testing – experience with hand gauges and inspection equipment
  • Build up brake test fixtures in dynos for performance and NVH testing – mechanical experience essential – hand and power tools, automotive brake systems – auto dealership experience preferred
  • Operate a forklift to install large fixtures inside a test cell
  • Interface with test machine computer software to input parameters for machine control – high level of comfort with computers essential
  • Read and understand test machine control scripting language – computer code
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools – Excel, Outlook
  • Read and understand test specifications – SAE, ISO, etc. and apply requirements to test
  • Read and understand test requests for key parameters and preparation needs
  • Monitor live testing conditions to ensure fault-free testing
  • Estimate testing time – build-up, run time, tear down – report information to coordinator and engineers
  • Utilize machine tools to modify parts for testing – Bridgeport vertical mill, table saw, surface grinder
  • Fill in for test technicians when needed and be able to support technicians when necessary to ensure lab operational capability
  • Perform job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in laboratory policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
