About this role

PRIMARY FUNCTION:         

To ensure that we support site maintenance in troubleshooting and correcting PLC control systems. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide training and prepare new programming related to PLC and HMI equipment.
  • Participate on project teams and provide subject matter expertise as appropriate.
  • Provide in-house programming or programming review of outsourced programs, safety interlock review and testing requirements, instrument loop checks.
  • Documentation relating to control and instrumentation type projects, drawing review of electrical wiring schematics including electrical loop drawings for projects.
  • Assist in the development of standards and procedures related to process control for software, hardware including software back-ups of new and existing control systems and their interfaces.
  • Document procedures for changes and archiving of existing or new programming and coordinating between in-house and outsourced workloads to ensure existing system integrity.
  • Prepare programming examples and assist engineering in maintaining up to date P&ID standards.
  • Perform other duties as required, such as trouble shoot complex issues to support maintenance personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S.E.E. or M.S.E.E. degree (Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science is preferred) or Associates Degree in controls/PLC with 5 years related job experience
  • Allen Bradley, Siemens, predominately used in house.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and operator interfaces.  Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Electrical knowledge and analytical ability.
  • Must possess a high level of independent judgment, professionalism and integrity.
