Accountant – Frankfort, Indiana

We are looking for an Accountant for our Frankfort, Indiana plant to contribute to our Powertrain – Sealings & Gaskets business unit.  This position reports directly to the Plant Controller.   In this role, you must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, which is essential to your success at Tenneco.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Support month-end closing activities to ensure timely, accurate, and complaint reporting.
    • Ensure financial reports accurately reflect financial performance in accordance with GAAP and Tenneco’s policies.
    • Analyze financial results to identify trends and opportunities for improvements.
    • Active contributor to the business planning processes (strategic plan, annual operating plan, and monthly forecasts).
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Plant Leadership, Production, HR, Quality, and Engineering to drive improvements .
    • Partner with our corporate and shared-services teams on items including Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Lease Accounting.
    • Proactively identify, research, and resolve issues as they arise.
    • Create ad hoc reports, analysis, and special projects as required by management.

 

  • Basic Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience in similar role preferred.
    • Experience with ERP and Financial Systems (PLEX, OneStream, and/or Power BI is a plus).
    • Advanced MS Office Excel skills, including pivot tables and large data set analysis.
    • Proficiency in analytics and problem solving.
    • Familiarity with internal controls environment (Sarbanes Oxley).
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at once, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interface with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
    • Automotive manufacturing environment experience highly preferred.
