Responsibilities:

  • Provide the software design, development, testing and deployment of feature releases to support the development of new software capability
  • Ensures all developed solutions deployed to production efficiently use platform resources and do not degrade the system.
  • Ensuring that network systems and components interact with Telstra processes and systems to deliver market leading customer experiences. You do this by using your expertise and experience of domain components to address incidents, problems, and upgrades to optimise network performance.
  • Assessing capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and managing vendor performance and technology delivery.
  • Contributing significantly to technology investment and business asset recommendations and assessments based on extensive knowledge of new and emerging technologies. This includes developing platform specific technology roadmaps that leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies.
  • Maintaining a high level of capability in network engineering, including new and emerging technologies, networks tools, systems and processes so that you can model continuous learning and actively provide coaching and mentoring of other network engineering team members.

To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:

Essential skills:

  • Having at least 4+ years of experience in developing and operating production grade software using the following technologies
  • Ansible Development
  • REST API Development
  • React.js
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Python 3
  • Relational Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Experienced in virtualization, containerization and container orchestration.
  • Exceptional debugging, testing and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in continuous build/integration and deployment automation through JIRA, Confluence,
  • Agile and DevOps practitioner
  • Experienced in test automation using frameworks. Eg: Robot framework
  • Follows programming standards to write code and documents solution in a structured manner.
  • Desirable
  • Software development experience in mission critical, real-time, low latency, high transaction and fault tolerant applications
  • Experience working within an agile SDLC environment, utilizing scrum-based projects and user stories to define and work development tasks
