We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us at Telia. 

I’m Liudas Markevičius, Head of Core Digital Services, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a result oriented, forward-thinking team focused on developing next-generation self-service portal. 

What you’ll do: 

You’ll play a key role in shaping and scaling the backend behind our self-service portal. Working closely with a cross-functional team and business stakeholders, you will not only build features but also influence how the platform evolves. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Owning and evolving the backend roadmap, balancing scalability, performance, cost, and reliability. 

• Designing and building secure, high-performance, cloud-native microservices on AWS. 

• Writing, reviewing, and testing clean, maintainable code to keep the codebase healthy and releases smooth. 

• Embedding security, logging, and monitoring from day one to proactively detect and resolve issues. 

• Collaborating with product, frontend, and other engineering teams to deliver real business value.

This role is ideal for a proactive developer with a structured, analytical mindset who is motivated to grow into a future tech lead position. Someone who wants to combine solution designing and hands-on development. You’ll feel home here if you bring: 

• Solid hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, gained across multiple projects, products, or features. 

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design and implementation. 

• Confidence in testing, including JUnit unit tests and integration tests. 

• Experience working in collaborative development environments (code reviews, shared ownership).
