About this role
We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join us at Telia.
I’m Andreas Lorentzen, Head of CTI and Security Engineering, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. Whether you're already developing capabilities for blue/red teams or you're a software/DevOps engineer curious about security – this is your opportunity to help shape Telia’s cyber defense. Join our Global Security Operations Center and be part of the team that builds the tools and controls that keep us safe
What you’ll do:
You will contribute to the security engineering team responsible for enabling Telia’s SOC/CERT operations. Your role includes designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining security controls that detect and respond to cyber threats. You will also create automation, protective mechanisms, and assurance tools that strengthen our security posture.
Develop and operate tools and systems that support detection and incident response
Build automation for protective and detective security controls
Collaborate with analysts to design effective detection rules and anomaly detection
Continuously improve our DevSecOps capabilities within GSOC
What will help you thrive in this role:
We are looking for someone curious and motivated who enjoys solving problems and working in a collaborative environment. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re eager to grow and take ownership.
Experience with programming (Python or JavaScript preferred)
Familiarity with query languages like SQL, KQL, or SPL
Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, system administration (Linux/Windows), or DevOps
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
You will receive training on our SIEM platform and work closely with experienced engineers. A security background check is required for this position.
