Job Description

  

Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position supports Supply Quality Assurance by collaborating with Quality Engineers and Receipt Inspection teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation for purchased materials. The role requires sound judgment within established procedures, proactive communication with suppliers, and a creative approach to resolving quality and documentation issues. A focus on continuous improvement and supplier partnership is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Communicate proactively with suppliers to resolve documentation discrepancies and material quality issues for incoming parts.
  • Vet, onboard, and periodically review suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance with company and regulatory quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to develop and implement project-specific quality requirements and terms.
  • Ensure accurate application and periodic review of quality terms on Purchase Orders and Estimating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and digital solutions to enhance supplier quality management, streamline documentation review, and support data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement.
  • Approve part transfers, verifying adherence to all relevant quality requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to GIDEP alerts; maintain a comprehensive log of reviewed alerts and actions taken.
  • Generate and present quarterly supplier performance reports, identifying trends and recommending improvement actions.
  • Support internal and external audits related to supplier quality, including documentation preparation and corrective action follow-up.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                           

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quality Software.

Other Essential Duties

Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately __+/-10_%.
