Teledyne API (TAPI), a business unit within the Environmental and Electronic Measurement Instruments group within Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), continues to be the global leader in the manufacturing of advanced instrumentation for monitoring of atmospheric pollution. We design, manufacture and market precision gas analyzers and air quality monitoring products both domestically and internationally.

PCBA/Block Test Technician

JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Production Technician Manager and is responsible for repairs associated with moderate and complex air quality
monitoring instrumentation. The incumbent will interface with Production, Stockroom, Customer Support and Engineering department
personnel. The position in primarily responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, repairing and reporting printed circuit board and
instrumentation issues.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform component level testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of various power supplies, software-controlled analog and digital printed circuit boards.
  • Responsible for calibrating, maintaining and repairing test fixtures.
  • Generate failure analysis and problem report to management.
  • Update or generate test procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires an AA degree or equivalent work experience or military technical training.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills, digital and analog skills, and the ability to troubleshoot printed circuit board in a logical manner down to component level.
  • Must have experience utilizing measuring instruments, oscilloscopes, function generators, digital multi-meters and hand tools, such as, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers.
  • Must be skilled in Surface Mount Technology soldering and rework.
  • Must have experience in working from electronic schematics, mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Must be able to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position will require frequent standing, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, and repetitive use of hand tools that will require twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, picking and lifting up to but no more than 30 lbs. unassisted.
  • This position will require the ability to visually inspect micro components utilizing such tools as a scope.
  • This position will require use ability to utilize a computer and associated equipment such as a keyboard and mouse.

  

Salary Range:

$39,000.00-$52,000.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
