Public Policy Manager (Onsite – Washington, D.C.)

  • Location: Washington, D.C.
  • Schedule: 100% Onsite, 5 days per week
  • Duration: 12 months

  • An industry-leading technology organization is seeking a Public Policy Manager to design, coordinate, and execute high-impact policy programs, events, and outreach initiatives that educate and engage U.S. policymakers and key stakeholders. This role requires a professional who excels in partnership management, program execution, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination, with proven experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Candidates must bring strong, hands-on experience in the top required skill areas, including partnerships, program and community management, event planning, and policy-related stakeholder work.

Top Required Skills (Critical for Selection)

  • 2–5 years of experience in government, technology, policy, or nonprofit sectors
  • Demonstrated strength in partnerships, program management, community management, and stakeholder engagement
  • Agency or corporate experience involving work with nonprofits or public-sector organizations
  • Proven ability to coordinate programs or campaigns in collaboration with external organizations
  • Experience coordinating fly-ins of advocates to meet with lawmakers (Washington, D.C. or state capitals)
  • Strong event planning skills, including logistics and on-the-ground coordination

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and execute policy programs, events, and outreach initiatives to educate policy stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Policy, Product, Legal, Communications, and Partnerships
  • Build, manage, and strengthen partnerships with external organizations and represent the company at events, conferences, and working groups
  • Support engagement with policymakers, trade associations, nonprofits, industry partners, and key opinion leaders
  • Prepare executives for stakeholder meetings and public appearances
  • Improve internal processes to streamline workflows and enhance communication
  • Manage program budgets and track progress against key metrics
  • Produce a variety of communications and policy materials
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in government, technology, policy, or nonprofit sectors
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and project management skills
  • Direct experience engaging with policy stakeholders
  • Experience managing policy events and programs
  • Knowledge of federal or state policy-making processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a high-paced environment
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute policy events and outreach programs
  • Work cross-functionally to advance policy goals
  • Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders
  • Assist executives in preparing for public engagements
  • Improve and standardize internal communication processes
  • Represent the organization at external events, coalitions, and working groups

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
