ABOUT PSU OFFICE OF PHYSICAL PLANT | FACILITIES AUTOMATION SERVICES

Penn State's Office of Physical Plant (OPP) provides excellent facilities services to Penn State. We steward more than 22,000 acres of land and roughly 32 million square feet of buildings for the University's students, faculty and staff. OPP is comprised of nine separate divisions, including Administrative and Financial Services; Buildings and Grounds; Planning Design and Properties; Commonwealth Services; Design and Construction; Energy and Engineering; Environmental Health and Safety; Work Control; and the Office of the Associate Vice President. Each of these divisions is made up of several units with a focused area of responsibility. OPP is supported by more than 1,500 employees who work around the clock 365 days of the year in support of the University's mission of teaching, research and service. The FAS Tech Support Group provides building automation support for over 300 buildings at the University Park Campus. They are currently in the process of expanding their services to provide support for the University’s Commonwealth Campuses as well, through our Service Level Agreement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TEKsystems has partnered with PSU for nearly 15 years, and has had over 350+ engagements with the University. The Facilities Applications Unit within Penn State’s Office of Physical Plant (OPP) has asked TEKsystems for assistance in bringing in a Maximo Functional Administrator on a 6+ month contract engagement to assist with their active transition to IBM Maximo Scheduler. PSU has the largest IBM Maximo implementation in North America. The candidate will have hands-on experience with Maximo Scheduler configuration, implementation, and end-user support (required). Project management experience is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximo Scheduler Implementation & Support

o Collaborate with the PSU Maximo team to design, configure, and optimize Maximo Scheduler to align with organizational requirements.

o Monitor implementation progress and provide regular status reports to management.

o Coordinate with the training team to develop and deliver training materials for end users.

o Participate in user acceptance testing and ensure functional readiness.

o Provide post–go-live support to end users, ensuring successful adoption and minimal disruption.

o Offer guidance, training, and functional expertise to stakeholders in support of Penn State’s strategic business objectives.

• Additional Responsibilities

o Maintain the integrity, reliability, and performance of the Maximo application and its associated data.

o Evaluate new applications or system enhancements and define functional requirements, including design, testing, and implementation activities.

o Develop and oversee solutions for complex or high-impact issues that may influence university-wide processes or standards.

o Work independently on strategic initiatives while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

This is a Contract position based out of State College, PA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
