Electrical Apprentice – Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team and develop into a skilled electrician through hands‑on training and field experience. This role is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to build a long‑term career in the electrical trade.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman and master electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
• Pull wire, run conduit, and install fixtures, outlets, switches, and panels
• Support rough‑in and trim‑out phases on residential, commercial, or industrial projects
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and job specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and materials are properly handled
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
• Perform basic troubleshooting under supervision
• Load, unload, and stage materials for daily tasks
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various indoor/outdoor environments

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
• Basic understanding of hand and power tools
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• High school diploma or GED
• Able to pass drug and BGC
• OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain (preferred)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids,IA.
