RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the architecture and design of cloud-hosted information systems are secure and compliant with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
• Review cloud security policies and provide recommendations to strengthen protection, detection, monitoring, and response capabilities for systems and data.
• Apply current advances in cloud security engineering and threat intelligence to support secure deployment of cloud-based programs and applications.
• Provide security guidance throughout system development and deployment lifecycles to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Support and advise assessment teams in the execution of Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments for cloud-hosted environments.
• Evaluate cloud architectures and configurations to identify risks and recommend remediation strategies aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with program teams to ensure cloud implementations meet security, compliance, and operational requirements across enterprise environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience securing and architecting complex IT systems.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on experience securing cloud environments (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to cloud security assessments, audits, or compliance reviews.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud security frameworks, standards, and best practices, including but not limited to
• Center for Internet Security (CIS) Controls
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
• Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM)
• Experience working within enterprise DoD IT environments.

Certifications

• Must hold one or more Cloud Certifications such as:
  • AWS Certified (Associate or Professional level)
  • Microsoft Azure Certified (Associate or Expert level)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Certified
  • Oracle cloud

Clearance

• Secret – IT-I (Tier 5) Critical Sensitive Clearance.
