Data & Analytics Intern - Internal Opportunity

This is a meaningful opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a quickly growing and highly collaborative company.</p> <p><strong>Tecovas</strong> is looking for a Data &amp; Analytics Intern to embark on a data-driven journey to understand customer lifetime value<em>. </em>Reporting directly to the Data Analyst, you will take on a clearly phased project, starting with foundational KPI reporting and progressing to more advanced Predictive Lifetime Value (PLTV) analysis. Additionally, you will collaborate with business users, build key reports, and develop a predictive model, culminating in a final presentation of your analysis and findings.</p> <p>This position is based out of Austin, TX with regular in office attendance expected. Must be available for the full duration of the internship (12 weeks).</p> <p><strong>Please note that this internship opportunity is available only to current and active Tecovas employees. If you are not a Tecovas employee, you will not be considered for this position.</strong></p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Meet with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for KPI reports.</li> <li>Write and execute advanced SQL queries to extract and transform customer and sales data.</li> <li>Develop and validate the logic for calculating key metrics such as Active Customers, Cross-Category purchasing, and PLTV.</li> <li>Build and update data visualizations and dashboards in a BI tool to make reports accessible and understandable.</li> <li>Analyze and interpret data trends to provide insights and identify anomalies.</li> <li>Collaborate with a mentor on data modeling techniques for the Predictive Lifetime Value (PLTV) project.</li> <li>Document data sources, definitions, and query logic to ensure your work is repeatable and understandable</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience we’re looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.</li> <li>Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills.</li> <li>Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and predictive analytics fundamentals.</li> <li>Experience with stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and data storytelling</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you bring to the table:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Analytical Curiosity: A natural desire to dig into data, ask questions, and understand the "why" behind the numbers.</li> <li>Proactive Communicator: The confidence to engage with business users, ask clarifying questions, and clearly present your findings.</li> <li>Problem-Solving Drive: The ability to independently troubleshoot issues, whether in a SQL query or a data model.</li> <li>Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to your work, ensuring that data is accurate and reports are precise.</li> <li>Eagerness to Learn and Adapt: A strong desire to absorb new technical skills and business concepts as the project evolves.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Must</strong> be located in the Austin, TX area&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Must</strong> be available to work up to 32 hours per week, Monday - Friday (between the hours of 8AM-5PM CST)</li> <li><strong>Must</strong> be at least 18 years of age or older</li> <li><strong>Mus</strong>t have reliable transportation</li> <li>Able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly&nbsp;</li> <li>Internship program culminates with a presentation to our leadership team summarizing your experience at Tecovas with key takeaways and feedback regarding the program.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Internship Perks:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive hourly rate - starting at $18/hour; <em>The actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.</em></li> <li>Daily lunch stipend</li> <li>Gain more insight and professional experience into the departments that help a direct-to-consumer retail organization succeed</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Us:</strong></p> <p>Based in Austin, TX, Tecovas brings the spirit of the West to the modern consumer.
