Position Summary

The Quality Inspector I is responsible for performing basic inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. This entry-level position is focused on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non-conformances. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely with production teams to ensure product quality. Principle Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Maintain a positive and professional presence while representing quality assurance with production teams.
  • Verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Document inspection results and any defects / non-conformances detected.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics at a basic level.
  • Follow company procedures to perform routine quality checks.
  • Maintain inspection records and files for traceability and compliance.
  • Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated and properly maintained before use.
  • Assist with the identification of non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions under supervision.
  • Work with production teams to identify potential areas for improvement and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in routine training to develop knowledge of quality systems and inspection techniques.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong math skills to work with fractions and decimals in the imperial and metric measurement systems

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is a plus, but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
  • Good communication skills to document and report inspection results.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
  • Average skill in Microsoft Office, entering data accurately and repeatably.

Physical Requirements
