Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a fixed-term, part-time Kaiwhakaako - Teaching Fellow in Health Promotion to join Te Puna Hauora - School of Health.

Key responsibilities:

  • To coordinate and deliver courses: 
    • HLWB 306 Health Promotion Practice – Trimester 1 2026.
    • HLWB 525 Health Promotion Theory and Practice – Trimester 1 2026.
    • HLWB 206 Foundations of Health Promotion – Trimester 2 2026.
  • Attend course coordination meetings and other hui as required.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, student-focused individual, with experience in health promotion tertiary education.

Key requirements:

  • A completed (or almost completed) PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the role. 
  • Demonstrated experience, and evidence of successful teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and familiarity with innovation in learning and teaching practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work with others, and to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability, or clear potential, to build and maintain appropriate professional working relationships or networks of contact.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage groups.
